The headline: My only regret is that I didn't start working with Helen sooner.
I had a shoulder impingement injury, posture issues, and hypermobility that negatively affected me in both my sport and day-to-day life. Not only did she help me 'put the fire out' with the shoulder injury, but she also helped me get stronger to prevent it from recurring. Helen also gave me the mind-body connection and confidence to know my range and how not to exceed it.
Helen applied this holistic approach to the rest of my body, starting from the ground up, literally with my feet. I've learned how posture is built from strong feet and ankles and have been able to target and overcome stubborn foot pronation, a lifelong rib flare, and deep core weakness. I genuinely feel more comfortable inhabiting my body and moving through space. My walking gait and posture have noticeably improved. I've been able to advance in my Classical Ballet practice, reaching new heights with extension, turnout, balance, and alignment.

This summer I’m training for my first ultra race and have been able to train injury free!
I came to Helen for the first time three years ago with a goal of running my first long distance race. Up to that point I had never run more than 7 miles or so. She gave me exercises to help build my leg strength and address some IT band issues I was having. I was able to successfully finish my first half marathon that summer! The following year when I was training for my first full marathon, I had a new set of issues pop up. I returned for a visit and Helen was able to identify the problem and recommend additional exercises and taping. My injuries quickly resolved and I finished my race pain free. This summer I’m training for my first ultra race and have been able to train injury free! I highly recommend True North for athletes working through sports injuries!

She solved my pelvic floor related concern by expertly asking questions about related behaviors and recommending simple changes!
Helen came highly recommended by a family member who successfully worked through multiple injuries under her care. Initially, my goal was to have Helen evaluate a minor lower back strain and address some random aches and pains. Three sessions with her left me with a great understanding of my how my lower back, pelvic floor, feet, and knees were functioning. She gave me fundamental tools to eliminate pain, improve balance, increase mobility, and strengthen my weak areas. She is calm, a great listener, and communicates details in an accessible way, making therapy enjoyable!

Dr. Helen is incredible!
I can’t say enough good things about her and her practice. She’s highly attentive; she took the time to ask lots of questions and make sure she really understood my problem, and had me go through several exercises to diagnose the cause of my issue. She is a very knowledgeable PT, and did an excellent job explaining what she was having me do, and WHY, in plain English. I would HIGHLY recommend her to anyone who needs a PT.

I worked with Dr. Helen for a running-related overuse injury, and even though we did a video assessment remotely, her insight was nothing short of magical.
She didn’t just give me cookie-cutter exercises, but instead provided a deeply personalized plan that immediately started making a difference. Dr. Helen is the best PT I could imagine working with.
She’s extremely knowledgeable and skilled at what she does. She takes the time to listen to my concerns and make recommendations with my feedback in mind. Every session is personalized to my unique needs. I truly cannot recommend her enough. Together we’ve improved my pain, strength, and total body awareness. It’s been like a domino effect that’s helped me understand how my body mechanics affect one another and make improvements in all areas of my movement. She even took the time to study up on the specifics of my niche sport to better help me recover and get back to not just “normal” but back to doing my favorite things. I’d recommend her 1000x over.
